Quiet Laos, one of the least-touristed countries of Southeast Asia, charmed us with its beautiful scenery, traditional ways, diverse ethnic groups, and intricate textiles. While staying in the lovely town of Luang Prabang, we hooked up with a local literacy organization called Big Brother Mouse. Through its programs, we helped young Buddhist monks and other Laotian students practice their English and provided new books to the children of a rural elementary school.
