One of Hanoi’s religious landmarks is the Temple of Literature, a center of Confucian worship and study for almost 1,000 years, where students still go to pray for success in their exams, and where top graduates have been celebrated through the centuries. Smaller but equally beautiful temples dot the streets of Hanoi's Old Quarter, many dedicated to the deities and historical figures associated with the craft traditionally practiced on a given street.
